Lately, I have been, once again, feeling the great burden in my heart for orphans. I so desire one day to adopt and I know that is in God’s plan for us. I am just praying right now that God will mark out our path and show us in what capacity that will happen.
I happened upon this blog: www.aplacecalledsimplicity.blogspot.com
which I found from a friend of mine I met in Jacksonville. Holy Moly. I want to be this woman. She and her husband (a pastor) have been married 33 years and have ELEVEN children, EIGHT of whom are adopted! They have sacrificed so much to bring these children into their family, many of which have special needs. You can hear this woman’s heart, her intense burden for the orphan, and her call to fulfill James 1:27 in each word that she writes.
I’ve not yet had the pleasure of getting through all her writings but I was especially excited about and encouraged by this one for those of us who feel like adoption is just so expensive:

I highly recommend you perusing her blog if adoption is something that interests you (and if you call yourself a follower of Christ, it should!) Please also be in prayer for our family as we think and pray about “What’s next?”
