So, we have been the parents of four for almost 48 hours. It’s been a whirlwind. The first night went well but was short. Woke up early Wednesday morning to head to Tampa for Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, it was the best car ride we have ever had. All 4 kids were beautifully behaved and we watched Elmo and Finding Nemo all the way down. It’s been a little hectic with just being exhausted from the first night. Both boys slept great but baby girl isn’t feeling well so she was up some of the night with congestion. I also felt like I had a newborn although she is almost 1 because, every time she would move or make a noise, I’d wake up. Needless to say, Mommy didn’t sleep much. Then with the trip and just getting adjusted to 4 of everything, we were zonked by 9pm last night!
Today we are spending the first thanksgiving with my family in Tampa. As I write, the kids are napping and we are getting ready to head to my aunt’s for dinner. We are so thankful to have 3 more little faces at our table. The family is loving the kids. Baby T is just the sweetest, most cuddly little girl. Both boys are super sweet as well. N is the softy and R is the tough guy. Both have been undergoing speech therapy so are unable to communicate much. We are sure chatty Michael Paul will break them out of that quickly! It’s been interesting and sad to get adjusted to them calling us Mommy and Daddy. They call us that throughout the day but, when night falls and they get scared, they seem to be calling out for another mommy and daddy. We are the third they have known. We continue to give them lots of love and affection and tons of “I love yous” and just hoping they know how much we care for them. N is learning how to pray as he crosses his hands and squints his eyes so tightly.
Many of you have asked what we need for the kids. For that we are extremely thankful. As to be expected, they did not come with much and what they did come with was very worn. This list is a very complete list. Please please do not feel obligated to go out and buy us a ton of things but if you happen to have hand me downs or anything like that, please let us know.

Again, this is an extensive list. We are so thankful for the generosity you have extended, especially in a time where their need is great but we don’t know when we will recieve our first support from the state. Also, anything you loan us, we will gladly give back when the kids are through with it.
We also covet your prayers. Please pray for the kids as they all came to us with sickness and their Medicaid will not allow them to visit our pediatrician until 1/1/10. We are able to take them to the HD and probably will when we return to town. Also pray for us for energy, patience, and just learning a new routine. Pray that they become adjusted and can adjust to us and feel safe in our home. Please pray for the boys’ communication to develop.
We love you all!!!!!
